This is a unique layer-based puzzle game that takes you on a journey that takes you back to the roots of the universe as it slowly merges together. You can solve puzzles by merging celestial objects all while taking in the stunning beauty of orbiting planets and vast galaxies. All of this happens to a beautiful soundtrack that navigates you through the game.
Cosmic Crescendo was created by 4 students within 48 hours during the Global Game Jam 2023 which had the theme “Roots”. Realising how much you can do in such a short time period is always surprising and exciting.
Our group worked really well together, because of good communication and a varied range of skills. I was tasked with drawing the background and animating the start sequence. This was the first time that I used just unity and code for animation, so I was able to broaden my horizons in that aspect.
